This estate is located at the top of the hillside bordering the river Loire and at the highest point of the Roche aux Moines. It enjoys a favorable micro-climate and the sloping vineyard is particularly well exposed. This vineyard is farmed bio-dynamically, as is the neighboring vineyards owned by Nicolas Joly.
Vintages 2005 through 1992 have received multiple gold medals and world acclaim. Barterhouse will stock the 2007 2005, 2001,and 1992 vintages.
100% Chenin Blanc
Our stainless steel fermenting room is equipped with a thermoregulation system and a pneumatic press which allows for a very gentle pressing.
25 wooden casks make it possible to mature and ferment one or several selections of grapes, according to the years, without necessarily seeking out wood flavours.

It was no easy thing to do and it does not always produce easy drinking wines . . . but it gives them typical features which the estate has always striven for, regardless of fashion trends. The “daughter” is an oenologist who has brought
new blood to the estate. She has taken over the vine cultivation, focusing on preserving the environment and applying the “Optivigne” Charter.
Hers is the will to maintain the spirit of a feminine wine full of finesse and elegance, not using too many new wooden casks so as to avoid overoaked aftertastes.
