About Diamond Creek

Our infatuation with Diamond Creek borders on the obsessive. In 1968, Al Brounstein founded California's first true Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Winery. Immediately, individual vineyards of the Diamond Mountain estate were differentiated from soil type and are still vinified and bottled separately. The original vine clippings used to cultivate the vineyards were actually stolen from Bordeaux and smuggled into the United States through Mexico by Brounstein himself.
