Samples and shipping instructions

Instructions for shipping samples into the US for the Barterhouse.

Samples will be shipped into the US under The BarterHouse, Inc. as the licensed importer, Federal Basic Permit # NY-I-15103. FDA # 10135266708.

Before shipment of samples, wineries must complete and submit this internal form: (click here) Once mailed back to the Barterhouse office, a COLA Waiver can be obtained from the TTB. Only then will samples be allowed into the country. Without this form shipments are in danger of being destroyed.

After a COLA is obtained, the product must be labeled and shipped as follows:

Label: "SAMPLES ONLY, NOT FOR RESALE" and have the "Government Warning".

GOVERNMENT WARNING: (1) ACCORDING TO THE SURGEON GENERAL, WOMEN SHOULD NOT DRINK ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES DURING PREGNANCY BECAUSE OF THE RISK OF BIRTH DEFECTS. (2) CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IMPAIRS YOUR ABILITY TO DRIVE A CAR OR OPERATE MACHINERY, AND MAY CAUSE HEALTH PROBLEMS.
