Brian J. DiMarco


Food and beverage have always been part of Brian DiMarco’s life. From his earliest days of making donuts at his uncle’s donut shop in Western Pennsylvania to a spin as freelance chef in Emeril Lagasse’s Food TV Kitchen, Brian has loved and studied all cuisine, from comfort food to fine dining.

While an executive for several advertising companies, Brian acquired a unique personal perspective and first-hand experience in gourmet food and wines, eating and drinking his way through dozens of cities across the North America and Europe. From 1992 to 2001, Brian worked in key positions at several top advertising agencies and companies, including Grey Worldwide, D’Arcy, McCann Erickson, Anheuser- Busch, Procter & Gamble, Bacardi Rums, Martini & Rossi, Dewar’s Scotch, Stella Artois and Burger King. This experience translates into Brian’s deep knowledge of consumer behavior and strategy.

After a self-proclaimed third-life crisis, Brian decided to enrich his personal culinary experience as well as his brand and marketing skills by pursuing professional education in food and wine. He received the Grand Diploma at the French Culinary Institute, as well as certificates in Artisanal Bread Baking and Andre Emmer Robinson’s first taught wine class. Brian also achieved the Sommelier Certificate as recognized by the Sommelier Society of America. His interest in wine led Brian to deepen his knowledge with consulting engagements at New York’s famous Sherry-Lehmann, where he managed the in-store Bordeaux, red Burgundy and large-format rare wine collections. Brian’s passion for rare and fine wine compelled him to source, drink, and arbitrage collectable wines in collaboration with the major NY auction houses.

Presently, Brian is the Founder and Managing Director of Barterhouse; a NYC based wine importer and broker. Barterhouse is currently working in 9 States and is actively seeking unique boutique products as part of a measured growth strategy. Brian also maintains an active private clientele in fee-based services for private collectors, retailers and restaurateurs. An executive with twenty years of experience in the Food and Beverage Industry, Brian’s love of all things gastronomic is unsurpassed.
